When Wok Box, a fast-service Asian cuisine brand, put out a call for help creating an ad to celebrate the chain’s 20th anniversary, Dream It Creations answered. Together, we produced a 15-second commercial celebrating Wok Box’s 20 years of service, plus their current sweepstakes where customers could win a trip to Asia — shown in Cineplex movie theatres nationwide.

Challenges
Time constraints were one of the most significant challenges on this project. With only a week and a half for pre-production, three days for production, and a week for post-production, the timeline was extremely tight — every phase needed precise coordination and efficiency to be ready for its debut on the big screen at select Cineplex theatres. Despite the pressure, we met the deadline without compromising on quality.
Another challenge: the actor playing the head chef had no prior experience and had never used a wok before — an essential part of the scene. We spent time during the shoot coaching the actor on wok technique and the motions needed to make the scene believable, so the final commercial delivered a professional, engaging portrayal of the Wok Box brand.
Results
A 15-second commercial was delivered to play during trailers at Cineplex movie theatres in Chilliwack, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, London, Regina, and Saskatoon — running from late 2024 through mid-2025 across various showings at these locations. We also created a 30-second cut of the ad, plus a BTS video, for Dream It Creations’ own use.

To bring the Wok Box commercial to life, we combined fast pacing and quick cuts with cinematic shots of the food and restaurant, capturing Wok Box’s dedication to authentic Asian flavours and exceptional customer service. Focusing on vibrant, high-quality visuals, we highlighted the rich textures and colours of the dishes while showing off the inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. To keep the audience engaged, we added humorous elements — a playful, memorable touch that matched Wok Box’s brand identity and left a lasting impression on viewers.
