The event was aimed at educating realtors and community members on the benefits of net-zero living and increasing awareness of the step code being implemented. TOL needed a highlight video that would serve as both a recap for attendees and a promotional tool to reach a wider audience, especially those unable to attend.

Challenge 1: The event took place in a small room with limited lighting. We adjusted the lighting setup to position the speakers in the best light and configured our camera settings to handle the low light.
Challenge 2: The projector at the venue was dim, making it difficult to capture in person and on camera. We adjusted the visuals in post-production to enhance clarity for the final video.
Challenge 3: Being a live event, we needed to work quickly and efficiently to capture interviews and key moments before attendees left. Our team was well-prepared and ensured smooth transitions between shots.
Results
The Township of Langley successfully used the highlight video to promote the Net-Zero Energy Homes initiative across different departments and to a broader audience online. The video received positive feedback and served as an educational tool for realtors and developers who were not able to attend. By showcasing the event and providing real-time insights, the Township gained visibility and increased awareness of the step code and net-zero living.

To meet the Township of Langley’s needs, we focused on capturing all key aspects of the event, including the speakers, participants, and interviews. We coordinated with the event organizers to understand the day’s itinerary and ensured we were ready to film each critical moment.
For this project, we used two cameras: one focused on capturing the speaker from multiple angles, and the other focused on gathering footage for the highlight video. We also used multiple microphones, ensuring clear audio from the speakers and the audience. Additionally, we assisted with AV to ensure optimal projector setup and capture any visual content presented.
We delivered 2 videos to TOL: one event highlight video for public use and promotion, and one other video for private, internal company use.
